Rooted in Tradition, Made with Intention
Simple ingredients, traditional methods, and a clear purpose:
to create soap people will actually use and enjoy
Heritage Soap House is a family-owned soap studio built around a desire to create useful, nourishing soap through traditional, time-honored methods and simple, carefully-chosen ingredients.
Soapmaking first became part of our family’s story more than 15 years ago, after we began looking more closely at the ingredients in the products we were using on our skin. What started as a practical way to make gentler soap for our family grew into a lasting love and appreciation for cold process soapmaking.
Years later, as a homeschooling family, that work has become something we now do together. Our children have learned the process of making soap while also learning about what it takes to build a small business from the ground up.
Our family business grew from a love for traditional soapmaking, a commitment to simple ingredients, and a desire to build something meaningful with our hands.
Our Ingredients
At Heritage Soap House, we believe soap does not need to be complicated to be good. Some of the best ingredients are the ones people have trusted for generations:
- Tallow + Lard
- Goat Milk
- Raw Honey
- Clays
- Herbs + Herbal Infusions
- Botanicals
- Essential Oils
When carefully chosen and formulated well, these ingredients can clean the skin without stripping it and help leave it feeling cared for and nourished.
Our approach: use what is needed, leave out what is not. It’s really that simple.
Our Process
Our soaps are made using the cold process method, the traditional way soap has been made for generations.
We begin by choosing oils, fats, and other ingredients based on the specific properties we want the soap to have. From there, each batch is carefully measured, mixed, poured into molds, cut by hand, and left to cure for several weeks.
The curing, or aging, of the soap is so important. It allows the water in the bar to evaporate, helps the soap become harder and longer-lasting, and gives the finished bar a better feel on the skin.
We make our soap in intentionally small batches so we can maintain the kind of quality that is harder to protect when production becomes too large or rushed.
Our Commitment
Heritage Soap House is built on intentional simplicity — soap made with time-honored methods, traditional ingredients, and a respect for the craft.
Our commitment is to keep our process thoughtful, our ingredients purposeful, and our batches small enough to protect the quality of the work.
Simple does not have to mean ordinary.
When a bar is made well, with the right ingredients and enough time, it can feel like quiet luxury: useful, beautiful, and deeply rooted in the old ways.
We are not trying to reinvent soap. We are trying to make it well.
Our Mission & Purpose
Our mission is to create beautifully made soap for everyday use — soap that is practical, nourishing, and made with ingredients we feel good about. A portion of every sale is donated to Christian missionaries, helping support the spread of the gospel around the world.
